Palmwoods won into Sunshine Coast Gympie Rugby League’s C grade grand Final defeating Caloundra 30 points to 16.
Devils coach Darren Roberts said: “It was our forward pack that won us the game. The forward pack go forward and our halfback did what he does all day. He’s the best player in the comp. The only reason is that the forward pack allow him to be that player.”
The Devils will prioritise preparation over going to the preliminary final.
Roberts said: “We’ll have a training run here next Sunday in the heat but we won’t go watch their game. We’ve just got to worry about our selves.
“We’ve just got to get our heads right [for the grand final]. We’ve carried a few injuries and what not. We’ll put them in cotton wool this week.”
Caloundra play Mary Valley in the Preliminary final at the stadium next Saturday. The winner plays Palmwoods in the Grand Final the weekend after.
