List of grounds we visited in the past year

We’ve been to many sporting grounds over the past year. While we’ve been there to cover events on most occasions, on others we’ve been spectators.

Western Suburbs Leagues Club, Walkerston

The weekend we got to Mackay to take up a role at Win Television we went seven kilometres out of town to Walkerston to cover the Mackay League game between Wests and Magpies.

Leprechaun Park, Mackay

Our first rugby union game in Mackay was at this ground. A game between Brothers and Slade Point.

Leprechaun Park is located at the southern end of Mackay Airport.

BB Print Stadium, Mackay

We went to a few events at BB Print Stadium. These included the Australia Cup Game between Magpies Crusaders and Macarther FC, the Queensland Cup game between the Mackay Cutters and the Burleigh Bears, and the Mackay Rugby Union Grand Final.

The Stadium is a reasonably good one. One thing we would change about it would be to change the placement of the speakers from around the boundary fence. It was strange to them in the spectators vision when looking towards the field.

Whitsunday Sports Park, Airlie Beach

Yes, we went to Airlie Beach. It’s about a two hour drive each was from Mackay. We were up there two weekends in a row covering the Mackay Rugby Union finals series. A good selection of images can be viewed here and here.

The Sports Park has a relatively new club house facility with pretty good set up.
