Two Maleny players out for season

The last round of Sunshine Coast Reserve grade rugby saw two players from the Maleny Bushrangers ruled out for the rest of the season.

One of these players has had to retire from the sport altogether due to a delayed concussion.

A delayed concussion is one that is not immediately apparent.

This particular one reported showed itself on Monday – two days after the incident.

The other player injured his ankle just before half time.

This injury turned out to be the tearing of ligaments in the affected ankle.

It was initially thought that the ankle was broken but the player was able to put some weight on it and walk around a bit before being taken to hospital.
