University won their first home game of the 2018 season beating Goodna 44 points to 15.

“We knew they were a big side, had a close one with Caloundra last week,” said Uni player Matt Lieder.

“We had a good week of preparation for this game.

“We knew they were a big side, had a close one with Caloundra last week.

“We stuck to our structure and it showed on the scoreboard.”

The Goodna side used six of their substitutions due to injuries.

“This was just our second game [for the year],” said player Rocky Seupule.

“We played no trials.”

Substitutions aside, Goodna dominated the opening exchanges of the second half.

“We just wanted to get back to our power game because that’s our strength,” Seapule said.

“I think, in that first half, we were guilty of trying to match Uni in the structure they had.”
