Sunshine Coast Wanderers have bounced back from a heavy loss by defeating Eastern Suburbs 2 goals to 1 at home in Buderim.
Wanderers coach Paul Green said: “We were really pleased the first half and how the lad’s approach today.
“We’re starting to get a few lads back on the field.
“Obviously it’s still pre season but it’s a competitive game so it’s really important that we instill those winning behaviors and those winning beliefs.”
The Wanderers opened the scoring after about 38 minutes through Zach Roulston.
Easts would score the equaliser about 4 minutes into the second half with a well worked goal to Laurance Cant.
“Obviously they get themselves back into it with a little bit of a miscue from from Griff who can do better in them moments, but ultimately I think look we found a way we found a way to win.
Stefan Caldwell scored what would be the match winner at about the 77 minute mark.
“That’s a really pleasing aspect as well. I thought the goal was fitting a win in any game of football to be honest.
“I was really pleased with how the lads responded. We didn’t quite get to grips with the overload through the middle of the park in this the second half.
“However there just opportunities for us to to continue to work on in build up to the season in two weeks time.
