Conversion separates Western Force, Queensland Country
An Ian Prior conversion has given the Western Force a two point win over Queensland Country on the Gold Coast.
Both sides scored six tries in a seesawing affair with the deciding score coming five minutes before full time.
“It was a disappointing result this afternoon, but I was pleased with the way our team stayed in the contest and worked their way back from a 21-5 deficit in the first half,” Country coach Rod Seib said.
“The Force are a quality side who put us under a lot of pressure today, with six tries a-piece, the difference between us came down to a conversion.
“Hopefully the team take a lot of learnings out of the game, and come back hungry to improve in Round 5.
“We have a tough challenge next weekend in the all Queensland derby, there will be a lot of feeling in the match as the boys come up against their Reds and club teammates.”
