Wynnum have taken out their first game of the 2018 rugby season against University of the Sunshine Coast 27 points to 20.

Bugs captain Machlan Scott thought the Uni players were alot fitter than expected.

“Alot of the boys the we play in our comp are normally a bit bigger, and a bit slower,” he said.

University lead for most of the game

“I think we just dug really deap,” Scott said

“Full credit to the team.”

Uni coach Keith Davies syas his side should not have been in a position to lose the game late.

“We dictated the game in the first half,” he said.

“Then we’ve let them come back into it.

“If we’d’ve kept playing our game, we would stretched that [first half] lead out more.”
