Post match interview with Stu Beakey

Maroochydore have slipped further behind the top four in Sunshine Coast Rugby Union’s A grade competition going down to Wynnum 21 points to 10.

But it’s not all doom and gloom for the Swans.

We caught up with coach Stu Beakey after the game.

How was that hit for your guys?

It’s really good. We were really short today and seeing Caloundra forfeited reserve grade Wynnum had eight fresh guys on the bench and it really showed. They ran them on about 15 minutes into the second half and we just got out of gas. But the pleasing thing was that we scored at the end and finished the game off well. I thought the guys, we had a number six play in 12 but never been in the backs before and I thought he played
really well. Very impressed with the boys today.

I saw a few guys go down injured. Every one’s all good yeah?

Well we only had one on the bench to start with and we lost a couple so we had Colts
that played three games today so they did really well.

You must be happy with how they went?

Extremely well they’re the future of the club so more footy they get at this level the better
they’re gonna be.

Who’ve you got next week?

I think we got Caloundra

Here or down there?

I think we’re here. We’ll worry about next week on Tuesday.
