Greens, One Nation to run for Sunshine Coast Council
Party politics will be coming to Sunshine Coast local government elections from 2020.
Sources tell PattmanSport that both the Greens, and One Nation plan to run candidates at the next local government election.
Steve Dickson is also reported to be considering a run for Mayor. He is currently scheduled to be One Nations lead senate candidate for the next federal election.
Given that the federal election is due it is conceivable that he will be elected to the Senate. But it is also conceivable that he wouldn’t.
The Greens were the first political party to run candidates at this level, doing so at the 2016 local poll. They didn’t gain any seats in that case.
What policies they’ll bring to such an election is yet to be seen.
